Denkendes Auge, video mapping about Goethe in Germany
"Denkendes Auge" is a video mapping inspired by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's studies on light, darkness and color and their perception through the human eye. A recognition of the vitality of retina, the sensitive and moral effect of color and the experiments with its contrasts. Landscapes also stimulated by narratives and poetry of Goethe, whose stanzas give voice to the audiovisual mapping.
A production that has been possible thanks to the Essen Light Festival in Germany, which has chosen Sínoca's project to be projected on the facade of the Brecklinghaus in the city of Essen. This has been projected for 10 consecutive days, from September 30 to October 9, 2022 in a light festival that exclusively uses energy from renewable sources.
From September 21 to 23, 2023 the mapping work has also been projected on the Roter Turm in Chemnitz, the symbol of the city and its oldest surviving building. A 270º architectural videomapping that has been able to be walked spatially through the three sides of the tower thanks to the first edition of the German light festival Light Our Vision in which Silvia Isach has been the international artist of the programme.
