Vital Energy, 360º immersive video mapping

15/10/2023

Vital Energy is an immersive 360º projection mapping that explores the energy that is neither created nor destroyed, the essential vital force that animates all kinds of life in the universe. A strength that is invisible, silent, without form, but which permeates everything. Quantum physics, spirit, bioelectricity, cosmos energies like gravity, magnetism or solar energy. An intense impulse that sustains the living elements and which is transformed into another state after the organism’s death.
Invited by the Bright Festival Connect 2023, the immersive art project has been projected for several days in the Maschinehalle hall of the digital art center Kunstkraftwerk Leipzig, the first museum in Germany dedicated entirely to media art experiences. An audiovisual mapping that immerses the audience in the artwork in a complete and organic three-dimensional environment with the support of advanced projection and surround sound technologies. A space for the connection between art, science and architecture and in which research, art and design have had common roots.

On a technical level, the visual content of the immersive 3D mapping project has been created specifically for the 360-degree projection taking into account the surfaces of the space and the morphology of the architecture in order to create a completely realistic environment enveloping and visually striking. The ceiling of the room is equipped with projectors that cover the entire visual space of the viewer and the speakers are strategically placed to provide surround sound that accompanies the projected images. Thus, the synchronization of the audio with the visual content is one of the aspects that has also been taken into account to improve the immersion and achieve a complete sensory and artistic experience by transporting the spectators to the virtual worlds of the work.

These types of immersive installations transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary visual experiences and become a powerful means of telling stories, both for entertainment and communication, pushing the boundaries of traditional visual displays and creating experiences more attractive and memorable for audiences. For this reason they are ideal for special events, interactive exhibitions or immersive educational experiences.
