Immersive forest mapping in Olèrdola Castle

29/07/2023
In the beautiful natural environment of the Olèrdola Monumental Complex, on Saturdays, July 29 and August 5, Summer Vespers took place, a series of activities in which the Archeology Museum of Catalonia-Olèrdola has made it possible to discover and enjoy this historic heritage.
One of these activities has been the immersive video mapping in the forest that I have done visually modifying the immovable appearance of nature and offering the opportunity to rediscover a magical and singular place in a singular way. The forest at night, a journey of the senses in a space where nature and contemporary technologies meet. An immersive projection in which the mapping technique has been used to design and project animations and dynamic graphics interacting on natural elements within the forest environment of the Castle of Olèrdola. The result has been a magical, captivating and multisensory experience that combines the beauty of nature with the creativity of digital art. The unique characteristics of the natural landscape (trees, soil, foliage, bushes) have been the canvases to project the visual content, a combination of the virtual world with the physical one to offer a new perception and enjoyment to the public. The immersive nature of the experience fosters a personal connection between viewers and their surroundings, encouraging them to appreciate and connect with nature in a new and emotional way.
